This helped us out with types of shots to use and how to do them. Although we were worried that people may think we had copied the whole of the opening scene of ‘Lost’, when actually we had thought about a girl waking up in the woods a little before we had watched the episode. As we wanted our film to be a thriller/ mild horror, we also decided to take ideas from a few horror films. For example we watched the opening scene to ‘Halloween’ which was inspiring because they played their opening credits over the top of the film, and this is what we decided to do. I believe it was most effective in 'Halloween' because whilst there are close up shots of the pumpkin, the credits are playing next to the pumpkin, in a transition, and then goes back to the shots of filming inside of the house.

In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
We were initially inspired by the opening episode of ‘Lost’, that we had watched in class. It showed how the main character woke up in the middle of the forest, unable to recollect why or how he got there. For example, we used a close up shot of my face when I was lead on the floor. This would make the viewer empathise with Rose, because it shows the detail of how disorientated and upset she is. (see screenshot below)
